As a proud sponsor of the UWA University Engineers’ Club (UEC), VGW attended the annual UEC Vacation Work Expo on 4 May 2023.
The UEC at UWA plays a vital role in shaping the future of aspiring engineers. With a mission to equip students with valuable career development opportunities and support, the UEC serves as a launchpad for their journey toward personal and professional growth.
The UEC Vacation Work Expo attracted a large range of enthusiastic students from various engineering disciplines. It gave students seeking vacation and graduate programs an opportunity to interact with industry professionals and gain invaluable insights into the real-world applications of their studies.
At the event, several of VGW team members met with talented and driven students ready to learn more about the industry. Marc, one of VGW’s Senior Site Reliability Engineers in attendance on the day, said events like these are important for the tech community.
“Cultivating a community of engaged, learned and aspiring engineers across the various disciplines cements Perth as a flourishing technology hub,” said Marc.
“Offering suggestions on what the next steps could be [in pursuing a career in tech] and seeing the possibilities light up in students’ eyes was particularly rewarding”.
“Technology can be interesting but the people that incubate that technology are far more critical and they were certainly who were in attendance.”
